June’s Old Preston Hollow/Bluffview Special Event was a hit!
Master Gardener and accomplished foodie Linda Alexander, the writer of the Resident Recipe section of Estate Life Old Preston Hollow/Bluffview, is to thank for spearheading our Estate Life Grazing in the Gardens event. This event gathers neighbors to taste, imbibe and relish in the glory of simply spectacular outdoor spaces. Our upcoming Grazing in the Gardens event this month will showcase the food offerings and vision of two other very special Bluffview residents—Lowell and Storm Sands.
Linda has been working on menu-planning with The Meat Shop’s Executive Chef and Butcher Keith Browning. It will also include some recipes from the Alexander Family Cookbook, that she lovingly wrote and published
The Meat Shop is the brainchild of the Sands brothers, grandsons of the late Caroline Rose Hunt, and long-time friends with J.J. Barro and Tasso Ziebart. The European-style butcher shop and eatery is designed to provide the sole retail outlet for their family’s beef hailing from the Rosewood Ranches located in Chatfield, Texas just outside of Ennis. Rosewood Ranches’ Wagyu Beef is certified all-natural, hormone-free, antibiotic-free, grass-fed and grain-finished.
Restaurant Review: Origin Kitchen + Bar
Meanwhile, Laura Chavoya, who interviews her neighbors to write Highland Park Estate Life’s Resident Recipe column got together with her pal Beth Peters to visit Origin Kitchen + Bar for a Restaurant Review. Several times a year, we like to conduct these “Restaurant Review” events.
