Born in Italy, Chef Giuseppe “Joe” Letteri spent a great deal of time during his childhood in the kitchen with his grandmother and in his grandfather’s butcher shop. This influenced him to attend culinary school, but he put aside the chef’s toque and traveled back to Italy to play professional basketball across Europe, Asia and the US.
Returning to America, he launched restaurant “Twenty-Four Chairs” in Boston. This venture made its mark and Chef Letteri was featured in media outlets across New England. After meeting Gordon Ramsay, he assisted Chef Ramsay in his Master Chef classes at his Tuscany restaurant. Joe’s time cooking for an Italian winery and exploring the culinary worlds of Umbria and Abruzzo compelled him to achieve the title of Certified Sommelier.
After spending years as a private chef, Chef Letteri decide to open Hush to share his unique culinary style and improvisational cuisine. Hush hosts small private events in a luxury home setting. Menus offer a series of small courses meant to excite your mind, satisfy your appetite and pique your curiosity. Each course is the product of Chef Giuseppe Letteri’s globally-influenced ideas, Italian roots, seasonal creativity, and the most compelling, fresh ingredients available each day. Chef Letteri’s skills as a natural oneophile and sommelier allow Hush to make some tremendous wines available to their guests.
We are pleased to have been introduced to Chef Letteri through a referral and to have hosted our signature Grazing in the Gardens event at such an interesting venue. Guests arrived to a champagne reception, hosted by Estate Life sponsor Jonathan Schlimme of Verdant Grounds landscaping and strolled through the estate to view an extensive collection of art by American abstract painter Gene Davis and others. To say that everything about it was outstanding is an understatement! From the wine and food, to the art, to the atmosphere, to the piano player and most of all, the focused attention of Chef Letteri and his staff during the evening, everyone enjoyed an experience they will long remember.
